Back in Flag for Fall 2016
Humphreys Peak near Flagstaff, Arizona
Flagstaff is a popular spot with many travelers, and for good reasons. The weather is decent for much of the year, and the city is large enough to provide any needed services. It also served as a good stopover before heading back to Quartzsite or Ehrenberg as the temperatures there were still in the 90s and above.
The experience was made all the better because a dear friend who was traveling from Idaho to Texas with his wife stopped and joined the camp. Happy hours, chili dinners, and outdoor movie nights were enjoyed until the weather began to turn uncomfortably cold.
As September was drawing to a close, the group headed to Sedona. While Sedona is only a short distance from Flagstaff, it is about 3,000 feet lower elevation. The temperatures in Sedona were 10 or more degrees warmer, both day and night. It was a welcome relief.
