One of the reasons that I am a snowbirding nomad is because I enjoy being outdoors year-round. Winter in cold climates is just months of misery when I am confined indoors trying to escape miserable weather. Southern Arizona, on the other hand, provides plenty of opportunities to be outdoors during the winter months.
Tonight I stood outdoors to watch the full moon rise over the Dome Rock Mountains (between Ehrenberg and Quartzsite). Yes, I was able to stand outdoors after dark wearing only a short-sleeved shirt! Did I mention that I love Arizona? In any case, it was a real treat watching the moon race up into the sky from behind the mountains.
I made a time lapse video of the moon rising tonight. The photos in the slideshow do not really do the scene justice but, in my defense, I was shooting with a new camera that I am just learning. At least that is the story I am sticking with for this episode…
I hope you enjoy the video. Please consider liking the video and subscribing to my YouTube channel to see more of my travel videos.
